DESCRIPTION:In this short seminar\, we will familiarize ourselves with the
  concept of unconscious bias and its relevance to the academic workplace. 
 Participants will learn about how stereotypes\, prejudice and discriminati
 on relate to each other and understand how two modes of processing our env
 ironment - ‘fast’ and ‘slow’ thinking – shape our social percept
 ions and interactions. We will conclude by discussing hands-on measures fo
 r the reflection and reduction of bias in the academic workplace.\n\nKatha
 rina Zilles works in the professional department for personnel and talent 
 development at RUB. Her work focuses on diversity\, equity\, and inclusion
  in research careers. \n\n
